Young stopper to sign two-year-deal. Burnley are set to complete the signing of teenage goalkeeper Daniel Nizic on an initial two-year deal.
The former Sydney FC stopper, 18, has overcome work permit issues and will sign a two-year deal, subject to international clearance. Nizic, who has Croatian and Australian parents, spent time on trial at Turf Moor last season. However, the former Portsmouth trialist has now secured a family work permit to join the Clarets full time and complete an overhaul of the goalkeeping positions at Turf Moor. Goalkeeping coach Billy Mercer explained: “Daniel has been on our radar but his parents have done a great job, along with (Burnley CEO) Lee Hoos, in getting his visa sorted and he is here for the long haul as one for the future.
