After all the trials and tribulations of a fluctuating campaign, the Clarets' hopes of an instant return to the Premier League were all but extinguished at an emotion-charged Elland Road.

Having hauled their play-off bid back from the brink by taking ten points from their previous four games, Burnley finally came up short on a day when Leeds were the ones to keep their top-six hopes alive.
The 'must-win' game went the way of the Yorkshiremen thanks to a first-half goal from Ross McCormack, who made sure that Nottingham Forest still had a bit to do to nail down the final play-off place.
