Brilliant Burnley fired out a warning to their play-off rivals that they are ready to go the distance with an emphatic victory at a re-energised Turf Moor.

The Clarets had not won successive Saturday-Tuesday home games in more than a decade with the last quick-fire double-header coming way back in October 2000.
But just when they needed it most, Eddie Howe's men delivered the goods as they blew Boro away with three goals in 15 giddy first-half minutes.
Jay Rodriguez, Wade Elliott and Michael Duff were the men to put the polish on an outstanding performance which sent the Clarets up to ninth in the table, level on points with Nottingham Forest in seventh and only two behind Leeds United in the final play-off place.

The first half performance in particular, could well be the best we've played all season.
We set a high tempo right from the off. In possession we looked slick, and passed the ball nicely, and looked a real threat.
When not in possession, we were sharp in chasing and closing players down, pressing them into mistakes or winning the ball back.
Impressive stuff. See what happens when we play our players where they are most effective.

Only rivalled by the first-half performance against Crystal Palace. Hardly a bum note tonight- this is what happens when you play players in their natural positions and don't try to reinvent the wheel.

We've probably left it too late, but you never know.
