Special Presentation At Tonight's Game

Besides tonight's home match at Turf Moor being the Clarets first in the Premiership, it is very fitting with this being their 50th Anniversary season since winning the League Championship, that a very important member of that team of legends will make a half time guest appearance.

Yes guys and gals none other than ex Burnley, Manchester United and England star John Connelly will tread the hallowed Turf once again. This time it will be for a very different reason, John has decided to loan his England World Cup winners medal for display at the club.

John only received his medal earlier this year after a campaign for all the squad members of the 1966 World Cup winning squad to receive winners medals. During half time tonight John will hand over his medal to the clubs chairman and custodian Barry Kilby. This is a wonderful gesture by John and one that is welcomed by all at the club.

There is nothing so surer that John apart from the Clarets winning the game will receive the biggest applause of the night from both sets of supporters.
