Today's game is the first of three in only four days, Burnley over the Easter period had to play on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday. At the end of this period there would be just four games left this season three away and one at home.

In the first of these games we were playing hosts to Leicester City, and there was a welcome homecoming for one of Burnley's ex heroes Albert Cheeseborough. The game wasn't a thriller by any stretch of the imagination, but more important than pretty football was the two points on offer for the winners of today's game. these two points Burnley secured with a 1-0 victory, the only goal of the game being a stunner of a long range shot from Connelly.

Unfortunately for John this was to be his last appearance this season for the Clarets as he left the field with a leg injury. The goal he scored though was his twentieth of the season and would leave him as Burnley's top scorer for the season.

Harry Potts Calling

In today's notes Harry wishes everyone a pleasant Easter, and he hoped that in the two home games that the crowd would get fully behind the team, as he felt that it was a big advantage and spurred the players on.

He also commented on how nice a compliment it was that the Football Writers Association had invited Bob Lord to be its special guest at the upcoming annual dinner.
