Clarets Trust Anti-Racism Events

The Clarets Trust have been busy again, this time organising events to promote the ‘Let’s Kick Racism Out Of Football’ campaign.

The first is an anti-racism poster competition with 2 age groups, under 11s and 11-16 year olds. Letters have gone out to over 50 primary and secondary schools in the Burnley and Pendle area, and the competition is being supported and promoted by the BFC Leisure in the Community team.

The winners of this competition will receive a match day prize courtesy of BFC, and will have their winning entry put up around Turf Moor. All the Trust need from them - apart from the poster design, complete with an anti-racism message, is their name, age, school or youth club name, and a contact telephone number on the back of their poster.

The second is 2 anti-racism 5-a-side competitions; one being the popular annual adults' competition, of which full details can be found on the poster at the bottom of this page, and the other being a new primary school children’s competition.

This 2nd competition is being coordinate by BFC Leisure in the Community, and will hopefully prove to be as popular as the adults' event. Both will take place at the BFC Leisure centre, although the exact time and date of the children’s event is yet to be confirmed; however it is expected to take place in the week commencing 16 October 2006.

The Longside would like to take this opportunity to wish the Clarets Trust good luck with these forthcoming events.
