A winning bonus point on the road gets the pirates season off to a great start against a dangerous Nottingham side.
The pirates had to weather a period of Nottingham pressure in the 2nd half before securing the win with a late try
As to be expected a bit of a disjointed performance but still a useful win before next Friday's home game against Ealing.
Congratulations to the coaches and players and a safe trip back home.
Gavin Cattle has been interviewed after the game and was pleased with the win and our attitude.
A few areas to work on and an injury worry regarding captain John Stevens who went off in the first half and could be out for a lengthy spell.

We had to defend for long periods in the second half but the boys stuck at it and managed to come away with the 5 points.
John's injury looked nasty (ACL) so he'll be out for a lengthy spell.

Excellent result on the road from the boys, the Pirates never say die attitude shone through yet again. As always with new players it's hard to fit in seamlessly, pre-season and training is one thing competition is another and as always our two brilliant coaches have moulded these lads into a good team already - I hope that any niggles and injuries are not as might be feared particularly for our skipper. Well done everyone

A good result, as mentioned some strong defending in the second half and once again Gav and Paves have brought a new team together in a short space of time. All been well we cam remain in the top half this season. Good as always to meet up with Mick and Tess from Skipton.
