Posters on the Rolling Maul Championship Message Board all have this down as an away banker for the Pirates and with their new team coach they should arrive fresh and roaring to go.
Steve Wade - if he is driving – should be in for a treat, as I reckon the Scania Irizar has to be one of the best coaches on the block for both drivers & passengers, and it looks the D*gs B*ll*cks in Pirates Colours.
For the rest of us, we will still all be sat at home, pasties, beers, gin, etc. ready to hand hoping for an emphatic win and counting down the days when we can all meet up again at the Mennaye.
On another note, the other day I was thinking about how much the Pirates have to thank so many farmers for their support.
Obviously Dicky is at No.1 – the Mega Farmer before he diversified into hospitality and the awesome Hemingways Collection. Then there is Martin Hudson who paid for our floodlights, Stoner & Lee who provide all sorts of logistics and kit around the Mennaye and not forgetting Stuart & Joy Michell always there to provide support and big smiles.
Then last but not least, always playing a blinder at number 7. John Stevens.
I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few so feel free to add them below.
A number of changes to the starting XV this week as the injury curse strikes another one of our centres with Shae Tucker picking up a knock in training.
On the positive side centre Will Butler has joined us on loan from Worcester Warriors and is on the bench.
Hayden King, AJ Can't and Harry Davey make their first starts of the season in a must win game for the pirates if we want to maintain any chance of finishing in the top two.
