United release Jamie Fullarton on a free transfer but told him he can still train with the club
Jamie Fullarton has become the latest victim of Dundee United's cost-cutting exercise.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been hit by injuries since signing and has agreed to be released from his contract early.
Fullarton has recently recovered from a broken ankle.
He joins joins David Hannah, Jamie Buchan, Neil Heaney and John McQuillan, all of whom have left the club.
Manager Alex Smith said: "It is better he leaves now so he can get fixed up elsewhere.
"Jamie bravely came through a difficult time, but I don't think he has played enough games for us."
