Liverpool fans prefer to put their heads in the sand, judging by these comments from a LFC site. It's sad that a club with such a great history can console itself with feeble excuses and lies for the behaviour of a minority of morons. "I wasn’t at the New Den last week so I can’t comment too much on want went on. If Reds fans did throw seats at the home fans then I’m afraid I can’t condone it, no matter how severe the verbal provocation was if that’s all that had triggered it. But if only two Reds fans were arrested in the game then maybe the whole incident has been blown up out of all proportion. I’m speaking as someone who ran for my life after the FA Cup tie there in 1989 and has read older fans memoirs of most away trips in the 70s being terrifying. On one famous occasion, less than twenty fans booked on a special train to West Ham because it just wasn’t worth the hassle.

But with the new breed of fan and television cameras at every game, any form of violence now is a shock and is recorded for all to see. That means that what may have been a weekly occurrence at most grounds twenty years ago is now the subject of an FA enquiry. Unfortunately for us, the cameras were situated in the Millwall section, focused on the away end so it’s Reds who are the main focus of the investigation."

That last sentence about the cameras is pure b*ll*cks by the way. Millwall have CCTV cameras all over the ground. That's how come they know a Liverpool fan started the trouble in the West Stand!
