What have we got?

Millwall might be on the verge of capturing Jo Tessem from Saints, but what sort of player will we be getting? That's presuming it goes through. Southampton's official site says it's been verbally agreed, but pen's not been put to paper yet! Tessem is described as a striker, but he's hardly prolific with only 12 league goals from over 100 league games, since arriving from Molde for £600k back in November 1999.

There's no doubt the 32-year-old has got talent though, but despite being 6ft 3" he prefers to play his football on the ground.

He's played a lot of games on the right side of midfield, so it remains to be seen exactly where he'll be deployed by Millwall.

Wonder if he'll be as effective as Kevin Davies? Three goals from 6 starts at the Den and our fans mostly described him as "rubbish" or words to that effect!

One man's meat is another man's poison though, as Davies found out after joining Bolton and proving all his doubters wrong.

Let's hope Tessem's goalscoring ratio of 1 every 2 games is just as good as Davies'.

Apparently, Tessem's work rate is good too, so at least he'll be more welcome than Davies was - who got revenge on the boo boys by scoring the goal that got Southampton a replay against us in the FA Cup.

Just think, if it hadn't been for the boo boys, we might have played in two consecutive cup finals!
