Spurs and West Ham eye Sunderland star

Arguably one of the few highlights of Sunderland’s miserable time back in the top flight of English football have been the performances of Julio Arca, but with relegation comes the almost certain inevitability of his exit. Both Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are willing to give the 25-year-old an exit route, to remain in the Premiership.

With West Ham preparing for the FA cup final this afternoon and Spurs about to embark upon a European adventure, times must be feeling good in certain parts of London.

But the last game of the season between the clubs, have resulted in accusations of food poisoning and calls for the game to be replayed, following Spurs’ inability to clinch a Champions League spot.

Needless to say the calls for a replay have led to little sympathy from West Ham, who won the game 2-1.

Now against the backdrop of all ready increasing tensions between the two clubs, arrives a potential tug of war over Arca.

Arca has remained loyal to Sunderland thus far, but his ambitions need Premiership football and the time to leave to realise those ambitions is now, it is merely the destination that needs sorting out.
