Totti back in Italy plans

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has stated that he expects Francesco Totti to play the entire game against Treviso on Sunday and be a substitute against Internazionale tonight. Ending worry that the playmaker was about to miss the world cup. Totti has not played since February 19 after breaking his leg in the game against Empoli, and has also had to contend with strained ankle ligaments, all of this aggravated Italian fears that the Roma star would miss the world cup.

Another Italian with reason to celebrate is Filippo Inzaghi, who explained his joy at his surprise re-call to the national side, saying:

"I'm very happy and very excited to be back after two years' absence," he said before the start of a two-day training camp in the Italian capital.

"It is great to be back in these colours, really satisfying and I would say a unique feeling," said the forward, who has suffered two years of injury problems.

He last played for Italy in the 4-0 victory over Azerbaijan in October 2003, but with Christian Vieri struggling with a knee injury, Inzaghi has been given a lifeline.
