Ex Manchester United star lined up for Monaco role

1998 World Cup winner Laurent Blanc is being lined up for the vacant managers job at Monaco according to L'Equipe. The player who had spells in Italy and England would be a risky choice as he does not have a lot of experience, but neither did Didier Deschamps when he took over and took them to a Champions League final.

And Blanc has never made any secret of his desire to get into coaching and is currently undergoing his coaching diplomas, he will face competition though with the likes of Guy Lacombe, Jean Tigana, Paul Le Guen and Raynald Denouiex all linked to the role.
