The day finally arrives for Woody?

Well over a year after leaving Newcastle United Jonathan Woodgate’s long anticipated debut for Real Madrid could at last be upon us, with the player being heavily tipped for a place in the game against Celta Vigo this weekend. There must have been few players unluckier than Woodgate, a world class defender when fit, he has suffered an horrific sequence of injuries since leaving Newcastle, sidelined with a thigh complaint since April 2004, Woody has broken down several times in training out in Spain.

But now with coming through some training matches unscathed, it finally looks to be his moment.
