French move for Liverpool star?

Marseille have confirmed that they would like to land Liverpool striker Djibril Cissé, should he be allowed to leave. Which could happen if Michael Owen does indeed make a return to the Premiership. Speaking to L'Equipe Marseille president Pape Diouf refused to deny interest in the player saying:

"If such an opportunity came our way then we would seize it. But the cup is still a long way from our lips."

Whether Marseille could actually afford to fund any move remains debatable.
