Marseille have confirmed that they would like to land Liverpool striker Djibril Cissé, should he be allowed to leave. Which could happen if Michael Owen does indeed make a return to the Premiership.
Speaking to L'Equipe Marseille president Pape Diouf refused to deny interest in the player saying:
"If such an opportunity came our way then we would seize it. But the cup is still a long way from our lips."
Whether Marseille could actually afford to fund any move remains debatable.
