For years now I have been reading about Lee Bowyer, he is a bad lad, we don’t want him here, we don’t want this, we don’t want that.
Well I am a Newcastle season ticket holder and I WANT LEE BOWYER.
We have all down the years seen players turn up for the cash, no other reason, we want money hand it over. Then we have the likes of Bowyer he wants to play for the club, when we aren’t doing well it pains him (remember the Dyer incident? Ok hands up who hasn’t wanted to twat Dyer at some point in the last 5 years?)
I remember back when we signed David Batty, I didn’t want him, I remember thinking Keegan had lost it, but really what a signing he turned out to be.
Listen to the lads words:
"I want to play for a team that wants me."
Bowyer was referring to Shepherd's apparent desire to get him out of the club, detailed embarrassingly in the former manager Sir Bobby Robson's newly published autobiography.
"There have been things said this summer and I was not wanted. So that is not for me to say, it is down to the chairman," Bowyer added.
"He was trying to get rid of me and asking other clubs to come in for me. That is never nice for a footballer who gives his all in every game and to find that out was disappointing.
"As long as I am here I will give my all. I come out to do that wherever I play. It is not about proving people wrong but I have done that all my career. That is the way it has gone and I will keep doing it. At the moment that is at Newcastle."
Now compare that to that excuse of a football player we supposedly played at left back last night and on Saturday and ask yourselves who you would rather have in the side?
Lee some of us have always been behind you.
Now taxi for Baba?
