Inter star to sell himself to the Premiership

With the likes of Newcastle United, Bolton Wanderers, Everton and Middlesbrough all connected with Inter Milan winger Andy van der Meyde, his agent Chiel Dekker believes his client will use Inter’s preseason tour of England as a shop window: "Andy wants to return to the level he was playing at with Ajax. He needs to be playing regularly to do that.

"He will either stay in Italy or move to England. In the next days Inter will be in England and it will be a good chance for Andy to attract the attention of Premiership clubs."

Back in December van der Meyde spoke of his desire to move to the Premiership, at that time to Newcastle, who as things stand would seem more interested in other players, but there seems little doubting that his future lies away from Inter.

He recently turned down a move to France.
