Spurs move into pole position for Madrid star

With the news that Arsenal are not interested in signing Real Madrid’s Guti, Spurs has become the favourites to get him according to the Spanish press. Arsene Wenger ruled out a move saying:

"I am not looking at Guti at all. I cannot say any more about it. It is either yes or no and in this case it is no."

Which is bad news for Guti, who had spoken of his desire to play for Arsenal, with his agent Zoran Vekic saying:

"After Real Madrid, his only desire if he was to move to England, would be to play for Arsenal."

"He likes their style, team spirit and, of course, they have a great coach."

But the Spanish press still believe Guti favours a move to London and Spurs would seem the likely destination.
