EURO 2004 Hero To Leave Ajax

It looks like Ajax and Greece striker Angelos Charisteas is set to leave Ajax just after he joined the Amsterdam outfit seven months ago. There are more clubs being linked every week with the EURO 2004 hero. Belgian outfit Standaard Luik, Spanish side Real Mallorca and English Premier League new comers West Ham United are reportedly interested.

The Greek striker came from Weder Bremen back in January and he was expected to fill the gap, wonderboy Zlatan Ibrahimovic left. But Charisteas flopped in his first six months at Ajax. With only four goals in thirteen games and very disappointing displaces.

Charisteas will get it very difficult if he wants to play regularly at Ajax next season, with new boy Markus Rosenberg and Ryan Babel being ahead of him in the picking order.

Spanish paper 'El Mundo' reported that Ajax offered Charisteas to Real Mallorca and it looks like coach Hector Cuper fancies a move for the Greek.
