Spurs star wants to stay

Spurs striker Fredi Kanoute has admitted that he would like to stay at Tottenham. He had been widely tipped to move to pastures new following him missing an end-of-season trip to Mauritius. He had been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, with a move to West Brom heavily touted, but speaking to the daily star the Mali international stated:

"It was never my intention to upset anyone at Spurs so I hope there won't be a problem when I return."

"It has prompted rumours over my future but I really do want to stay

"There was talk of me moving to West Brom this summer but that isn't something that I would have done. There are also rumours I will move back to France but I don't expect that to happen either. It is not possible for many reasons.

"Like I said before, my preference would be to continue playing for Spurs if they want me to."
