Spurs striker Fredi Kanoute has admitted that he would like to stay at Tottenham. He had been widely tipped to move to pastures new following him missing an end-of-season trip to Mauritius.
He had been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, with a move to West Brom heavily touted, but speaking to the daily star the Mali international stated:
"It was never my intention to upset anyone at Spurs so I hope there won't be a problem when I return."
"It has prompted rumours over my future but I really do want to stay
"There was talk of me moving to West Brom this summer but that isn't something that I would have done. There are also rumours I will move back to France but I don't expect that to happen either. It is not possible for many reasons.
"Like I said before, my preference would be to continue playing for Spurs if they want me to."
