Real Madrid after Cassano and Henry

Real Madrid is very interested in signing Cassano and Henry. Florentino Pérez has offered 15 million euros but Roma also wants Guti as well as money. Guti is keen on leaving Madrid and could also be part of an operation together with Michael Owen in which they would be exchanged for Thierry Henry. If the deal goes through, Antonio Cassano, who’s contract expires on 30 June 2006 and is also pretended by Juventus, coould still remain in Roma on loan from ‘Los Merengues’, if the Spanish side can’t release either Michael Owen or Raúl.

That way, Cassano would go to Spain when the transfer market opens in winter. If Real Madrid gets rid of one of their strikers, Cassano would join immediately.

Guti stands in the middle of two negotiations. Florentino Pérez is willing to pay up to 18 million for 'Il Bambino' and would use Guti to make the deal for Henry cheaper.

Arsenal have valued Thierry Henry between 50 and 60 million euros, but since they are interested in both Guti and Michael Owen, they would ask for less money if these players were included in the deal.

The Gunners had already tried to get both players before. Two years ago they were close to sign Guti, who finally decided to stay in Madrid and now is worth 20 million euros, but now the player is leaving Madrid and wants to play in the Premiership. Owen is also leaving for the Premiership, Arsenal had offered 16 million euros but Owen prefers Manchester United.
