Atletico Madrid bid for Saviola

Despite interest from the Premiership in the shape of Newcastle United and Liverpool, it looks likely that Javier Saviola’s future will be in Spain. Atletico Madrid have reportedly made a bid for the striker, and it is said unofficially that he would welcome the move. But they will have to wait until after the Confederations Cup to find out for sure.

Earlier reports hinted that he would prefer the Premiership, and the player himself is yet to comment.
