Charlton missed out on new Roma star

Alan Curbishley talked about how he and Charlton missed out on new Roma signing defender Samuel Kuffour. He joined Roma on a free this week but Curbishley spoke about his attempt at signing the player: "Perhaps the bigger club would have been more attractive to him,I don't know.

"We never got that far.

"Hopefully we can improve on what we have been doing in The Premiership and really establish ourselves as a top ten club.

"We need at least another three or four in, certainly before we start pre-season. We are out there trying and every day we're getting closer.”
