Newcastle United enter Forssell race.

Newcastle United have entered the race to sign Chelsea’s Mikael Forssell. There is some mystery surrounding what exactly happened with Forssell and Everton, with the player claiming he has never had a medical with Everton, and some sources claiming he had failed a medical. Either way Newcastle are reportedly ready to step into the breach and off him a contract at St James Park. Everton are still willing to offer him a pay-as-you-play contract, but if Newcastle are willing to offer him a deal, they must now be favourites to land the 24 year old.
