Baros is the prime summer target for Palermo, closely followed by Newcastle’s Hugo Viana. Palermo have had an excellent season in Serie A, but expect more for next term and see Baros and Viana as the perfect people to take them to the next level..
While he concedes that they have as yet to make contact with Liverpool, he does admit that he will in the summer he also conceded that he has spoken to Newcastle over Viana:
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has confirmed he's keeping tabs on unhappy Liverpool striker Milan Baros.
Baros admitted his frustration at being continually left out of Liverpool's starting XI this week and confirmed he was considering asking away at the end of the season.
"We are monitoring the situation.”.(Baros)
"When a player of his ability is on the market then naturally we are interested.
"There has been no contact between Palermo and Baros, but in the case he remains on the market then we will approach Liverpool."
“We have declared our interest and we hope to talk in the summer, a lot depends on the player himself, but we are interested, as we will be every time a player we think will improve the side becomes available.”
