Maxwell Injury Blow For Ajax

Ajax didn't only lose yesterday in the Dutch FA Cup semi final it also lost left back Maxwell. The Brazilian teared his cruciate ligament in his right leg. The prognosis is that Maxwell will be out for at least 8 months. This means he won't be playing again during the year 2005. Maxwell have been linked over the last few weeks to a host of European top clubs including Barcelona and Chelsea.
The news that Maxwell will be out for 8 months will rule out any transfer this summer.
