AS Roma target Sami Hyypia has stated that he wants to stay with Liverpool despite being stuck on the bench of late. Roma saw Hyypia as a potential summer signing after he impressed in the Quarter final against Juventus. But Hyypia is adamant that he wants to stay with Liverpool stating:

“As far as I'm concerned, I want to stay at Liverpool. There have been no talks yet but I have a year left on my contract and I am doing my best. “

"I understand the manager's reasoning when he left me out. He spoke to me and I have no problems.”

"I will just get out on to the pitch when I can and try my best as I always do. I am happy here."

But he did admit to frustration at being left on the bench stating:

"For the first time in my whole career I have been on the bench and it's not great."

"As a player you always want to play.”

"When you do play then you have to show what you can do, that is obvious, and I have tried to do that. But I'd like to think I don't have anything to prove to anybody.”
