Liverpool star Vladimir Smicer, spoke of his sadness at having to leave Anfield at the end of the summer. He also revealed that he had not actually been offered a new contract by Liverpool. "I think, yes I will be leaving. My contract is ending, people from the club don't speak with me about a new contract, so I think it's all over here," Smicer told Czech daily Idnes.

"I'm sad. I have experienced six great years here, my family have got used to living here.

"After the injury I wanted also to show I'm still able to play here at a high level. But the return wasn't easy."

As to where he is going the issue is still clouded but it is understood he has had offers from French side Lens and he does not rule out a move to France.
