I will start this article with the comments Robert made, then try and give my answer as we go; obviously it’s not an interview of any sort with this site, just my take on his comments.
"Are we better this year than last year? No, I don't think so," he said. "Are we the same? No, probably worse.”
I would actually agree with him up to a point on this, we are still worse in attack, because as of yet we have not replaced Bellamy (I do think however we probably have a happier changing room as a result). Kluivert is Carl Cort in disguise when it comes to Injuries; Baba is no where near as good as Bernard. But Boumsong is an improvement, when fit Bramble has improved; Carr is looking a good buy. Yes we need to improve more and replace certain people, but hopefully that will be addressed in the summer.
"I don't think we are playing as well this season - in fact, we've been very very bad and we aren't playing good football.
"It is difficult to explain why we are playing so badly, but we have to get out of it quickly."
I don’t think that is entirely fair, still in 2 cup competitions in April for the first time ever, I will concede its not attractive to watch most of the time, but its getting results, we have had years of attractive football, with nothing to show for it, I will take an ugly season and a trophy.
"It's been difficult for me at the moment," he added. "I haven't been happy when I've been brought off.
"I think everyone has seen that but I don't like it - and I don't like it when the team play bad football.
"He doesn't tell me when I'm playing well and he doesn't tell me when I'm playing badly.
"The team haven't been playing well and I haven't been playing well. But it's not just down to me."
Well if he actually looked like he cared about doing his job while on the pitch it would help. We all know he can be an amazing player, but he can also be a waste of a shirt. And is it just me that wants to grab him warmly by the throat, when he shoots from 50 yards for the 10th time every game?
"I would prefer to stay because I like the club very much. I still hope to stay at
"Last month there were discussions but nothing has happened since. I don't know why.
"I think it'll have to wait until the end of the season."
Try playing every game then, not just the ones where you are in the mood, look at your captain, now there is a man I would listen to whingeing, because he has earned the right.
Until Mr Robert does I suggest for once, he shuts up and lets his football do the talking.
