Barcelona interest in Man Utd star

Barcelona may be interested in trying to tempt Alan Smith away from Manchester United. Smith who has been unable to secure a first team place with Man Utd has been the target of a few clubs amongst them Newcastle. But up until now he has always insisted that he is happy at Manchester United and does not want to move. But could the news that Barcelona are interested tempt him away from Old Trafford?

Sir Alex has been told that he must sell before he can buy, but even so, it would still make Smith, who has not actually spent a full season yet with the club and unlikely departure.
