Ukrainian striker and European Footballer of the Year Andriy Shevchenko is getting ready to return for AC Milan in time for the Champions League quarter-final derby against Inter Milan. He could even be ready to play in Saturday's Serie A game against Brescia.
Milan's medical chief Jean-Pierre Meersseman stated:
“He is fine now and is actually better than we thought he would be at this stage.”
“In terms of general fitness he is in good shape.”
“Maybe he is lacking a bit of match sharpness but if he plays against Brescia - and he is available - then he should resolve that.”
Brescia game apart the main game for Milan and Inter fans alike is the upcoming quarter final derby, AC Milan were favourites before, with a returning Shevchenko, it is very difficult to see beyond Milan for progression to the Semis.
In fact if I am being honest I personally find it very difficult to see past AC Milan for the whole thing.
