Christian Vieri to Liverpool?

It seems an unlikely move, but reports in Italy strongly suggest that Liverpool are planning to meet Inter officials to discuss a possible transfer for Vieri. There is no arguing with Vieri’s goalscoring record, he has scored goals everywhere he has been, but he is now 32 years old and because of that alone would seem an unlikely target for Liverpool.

It does however look like Vieri will be leaving Inter, where he has found his chances limited of late with Adriano and Obafemi Martins being the preferred choice coach Roberto Mancini.

He would not cost much though, with only one year to run on his contract and as stated previously he does guarantee goals. He also speaks perfect English thanks to an Australian childhood, so language would not be a problem.

And it is just possible that Liverpool could see the aging superstar as cover in case something like the injury to Djibril Cisse occurs again next season.

I will be honest when I first read the rumours I was sceptical to say the least, but as time has gone on the rumours have increased, now the move would not so much shock me as surprise me.
