Del Piero dropped for Scotland game

Alessandro Del Piero is once again overlooked as Marcello Lippi calls up Antonio Cassano and Mauro Esposito to face Scotland. It will be welcome news for Cassano, who has yet to feature for Lippi, due to a combination of injuries and disciplinary problems. But it will be international agony for Del Piero, currently top scorer for Juventus this season, the last few games have seen a return to the Del Piero of old and he is now perhaps paying the price for playing for Italy when he really should have been dropped.
