Speaking to French television channel TF1 Chelsea's Drogba apologised to referee Frisk. Jose Mourinho had stated that his Barcelona counterpart Frank Rijkaard had talked to Frisk at halftime in the match, altering the game in Barcelona’s favour.
But the striker was in a conciliatory mood stating:
"I really hope he will change his mind. Soccer needs great referees and Mr Frisk is one of them.”
"Everyone makes mistakes and referees are human, we have to accept that.”
Of course it was Drogba’s dismissal for a second book able offence that started all this and led ultimately to Frisk’s early retirement.
