Newcastle star disappointed with snub

Newcastle United winger Laurent Robert spoke of his disappointment at once again being over looked for the French national side. He is is some of the best form of his Newcastle Career, but French manager Raymond Domenech, still does not rate him good enough for the national side. "Of course I am disappointed," Robert told But!

"I finally ask myself if I really deserve to be called, now I would like to know the coach's position, as the press one."

"I am waiting for explanations; we can imagine the door is definitely closed as I am not part of the new backbone."

However the French manager did call up Robert’s team mate Jean-Alain Boumsong and Robert was on hand to offer congratulations to the defender:

"However I am happy for Boum who has been called again and he deserves it."

He was also quick to play down rumours of a rift between himself and Domenech:

"I have no problem with Raymond Domenech, I knew him with the French Under-21s and it went off smoothly."

"I have no trouble with the players too, the key players play or have played in England.”

"They are all from my generation and we are friends, I have no tense relationship with anyone."
