French snub for Arsenal star, while Newcastle star

Robert Pires, France's most capped current player with 79 appearances has once again been overlooked for the French squad, he has in fact been out of the French national set up since November after comments he made about Domenech in a magazine interview and a row over wearing his personal sponsor's clothing.

His Arsenal team mate Thierry Henry has been named, despite carrying an injury and its another call up for Newcastle United’s Jean-Alain Boumsong, who is benefiting from the continued absence of Sebastien Squillaci, but few are arguing as his form for Newcastle warrants a place, in his own right.
