Noe Pamarot has admitted to being less than enamoured so far with life in London and is missing Nice. Having lost his place in recent months, couldn’t have helped the player settle, but he did manage a run out mid week against Forest. "My life in Nice was totally different," he said.

"My team-mates were real friends. We lived as a group.”

"From a lifestyle point of view it has been more difficult than I expected. The atmosphere here is good, but I cannot compare it with Nice."

But what if anything is to be read into this? Well personally I think not a lot, it takes time to adapt to life in a new country, and footballers have more spare time on their hands than most people do, hence more time for sober reflection.

Usually these feelings of homesickness pass and a player adapts, often so well that they are loathed to leave at the end. Zola for instance, was less than happy with life in London when he first arrived in England and he didn’t turn out too badly now, did he?
