Newcastle back in for Ajax ace?

Times may have changed at Newcastle United, but one of Sir Bobby Robson’s long term transfer targets is back on the menu at St James Park. Ajax fullback Hatem Trabelsi is again on the Newcastle wanted list according to press reports in both England and abroad. Graham Souness took time out from his preparations for tonight's third-round, first-leg clash with Heerenveen, to watch the Tunisian international in action.

Back in the summer, Newcastle were just one of several sides chasing the player and he looked a nailed on certainty to move, but to the surprise of everyone he remained in Holland. But now it looks like Newcastle have not entirely given up the chase and hope to temp Trabelsi into a summer move to the Premiership.
