Belgium international Thomas Buffel is now a Rangers player, having spent the last few days in negotiations with Rangers a deal has finally being sealed bringing the forward to Ibrox, for a figure of 2.3 million.
Several clubs were in for him including Benfica and Anderlecht, but Rangers beat off all comers to land their man. He has signed a contract which sees him tied to the Ibrox club for the next 4 and a half years.
"I'm delighted to have joined such a great club and I can't wait to get started," Buffel told the club's official website.
"Although I have not played for a couple of weeks I feel strong and ready for Sunday but it will be up to the coach if I play.
"I realise it is going to be a hot race for the league title but I have come here to do something to help Rangers win that title.
"Everything has happened quite quickly and I am really excited about this new challenge. The clubs made an agreement over the weekend and then a deal was struck today so I am very pleased."
