Juventus want Newcastle player on a free

Juventus will approach Newcastle’s Olivier Bernard within the next week, with a view to tying him down to a pre-contract ahead of taking him for free in the summer. Of course the rumours of Bernard going to Juve are not new but it was thought that he would leave in January and raise some cash for Newcastle.

But Juventus director general Luciano Moggi has other ideas and will wait until he can have the player for free. Bernard is attracting interest from other places as well, Middlesbrough and Everton have both been mentioned recently for instance, but the Italian press maintain that, Moggi is quietly confident of getting his man.
