Fernando Morientes' agent Gines Carvajal, has stated that his client could very well end off staying at Madrid, if new coach Wanderley Luxemburgo decides he would like to keep the striker. But whatever happens there will certainly be no move before next week.
Carvajal stated: "The Real Madrid president (Florentino Perez) has asked us to wait as he wants to know what the new coach decides.
"We should have confirmation of his decision by next week."
There could still be a good chance of a move away though, with the two destinations favoured by the player said to be Liverpool and Monaco, although his agent was quick to deny that he had, had formal contact with any side:
"We have not started negotiations yet but it's true that there are many clubs who have phoned us to seek information about Morientes,”
"But the probable destination is either the Premiership or France because it's impossible for him to stay in Spain."
