Fernando Morientes has intimated that he would like to join Liverpool during the January transfer window. He has been a bit part player with Madrid at best and now wants away from the Spanish capital.
His boyhood hopes of playing for Madrid fulltime appear to be ashes around his feet so he is willing to look elsewhere for regular football.
After playing in France last year Morientes is willing to turn his attention to Liverpool and the Premiership in a bid to resurrect his career. He will cost about 9 million pounds from Madrid and could go a long way towards sorting out Liverpool’s striker crises.
With Djibril Cissé injured and Milan Baroš just returning the Merseyside club are short of class centre forwards so it looks like a win, win all around.
