Carlos Alberto has become the target of several Premiership clubs as well as Palermo and Lazio from Italy and Valencia in Spain, in fact he looks to become one of the most sort after signatures of the January transfer window. After shooting into stardom under Jose Mourinho last season the diminutive Brazilian wanted to leave Porto to prove himself on a wider stage, and one club (believed to be Spurs) almost captured him, he stated: ''I received a good proposal from a club that I always dreamed to represent since I was a child and where some of my friends have already played,'' revealed Carlos Alberto.

''But it does not depend on me. Any decision will depend on the controllers of Porto.''

''Last summer I had a €10 million proposal from Paris Saint Germaine but Porto did not accept,'' he continued.

And let’s not rule out Chelsea in all this as Mourinho is an admirer:
''Luis Goncalves from the scouting department suggested Carlos Alberto from Fluminense,'' reveals Mourinho in his official biography.

''It only took one game for me to make up my mind about signing him.''
