West Brom in competition with Livorno for midfield

Bryan Robson must have thought the deal was done and dusted and that Argentine midfielder Matias Almeyda was on his way to West Brom. They have been given the first option on the player ahead of the January transfer window. Now the arrival of Livorno is looking to upset that, they hope the lure of an extended stay in Italy could tempt the midfielder more than a lucrative move to the premiership would.

Available on a free, due to his on going dispute with Brescia Almeyda was said to be keen on a move to the premiership, but the people around him were not so certain. Still West Brom has first option and remains as favourites to capture the player.
