Juventus are preparing to up the stakes in their bid to bring Sol Campbell to Italy. The Arsenal defender has been ear-marked as the top priority signing before the transfer window closes and Juventus suppremo Moqqi is determined to land his man. They are preparing an offer of 6.5 million, which is way short of Arsenal’s 10 million valuation, but they feel the offer of Ghana international Stephen Appiah could sweeten the deal for the Turin club.

From Arsenal’s point of view it could be a good offer as the 30 year old is still to commit to a new contract and could be in pre-contract with Juventus as early as January.
