Chelsea are lining up a deal for Parma Striker Alberto Gilardino. The under 21 international was left out of the senior squad by Trap, despite being the highest scoring Italian this season, this led to an outcry in the Italian press.
It is thought that any deal would involve a player plus cash exchange, probably involving Adrian Mutu. Gilardino is a prize asset for cash-strapped Parma, but the right kind of deal could tempt the player to the Premership.
