Newcastle and Liverpool Target wants move to Italy

After it was admitted that their is serious interest off Inter Milan to sign Leeds Striker Alan Smith, the player admitted himself yesterday that he wqould fancy a move away from the Premership and try his luck in either Italy or Spain The player will leave Leeds following their relegation and it is thought that the race to sign him might very well be dictated by who gets Champions league football, Smith is thought to favour a move to Newcastle where he can be re-united with friends, but might only go if there is the chance of Champions league. Which from a Newcastle point of view took a huge dent at the weekend when they failed to beat an already relegated Wolves.

A move to Liverpool looks less likely and earlier interest from Manchester United looks to be a non-starter for life long Leeds fan Smith whish leaves a move abroad of which he had to say:

"I would love to play in one of the other top leagues in Europe. I watch the Spanish football on Saturday and Sunday nights and have often dreamed of playing out there. Italy would be a great place to go, too. There is nothing better than testing yourself against the world’s best defenders."

In relation to Leeds he added: "I thought I would spend my whole career at Leeds, but now I’ve got to go. I have to do the right thing for my career."
