Eleven and a half years after they suffered a 3-0 defeat, Inter return to the Stadio Del Cornero were they lost to Ancona on the 6th December 1992. Which was Inter's only previous visit to the side from Le Marche.
Inter haven't actually won a game in either the league or the cup since 1st Febuarary when the beat Sienna 4-0. But their coach Zaccheroni, has only one objective and that is 3 points against the bottom side.
"We have two very important matches ahead of us," said Zaccheroni at Saturday's news conference in Appiano. "I don't know which is more important. One is for us to get going again in the championship and the other is to progress in Europe."
"I'm optimistic. From now until the end I will be able to choose from a bigger squad seeing as we've recuperated almost all our players, and Inter will return to winning and playing well.
"We know we must win in Ancona at all costs. We have an important goal to reach, which is to finish the championship in the top four places, so we need all three points. Ancona, who are in form at this stage of the season, have nothing to lose and will want to try and beat us, so we must face this match with attention and determination.
"But I repeat, I'm optimistic. For the first time since I've been at Inter I've had a whole week to work on details and I've been able to do so with almost the whole squad. For this reason I hope I will see the fruits of our work tomorrow."
