"Chinese Crouch" on trial at Bolton

Bolton Wanderers have handed a trial for an exciting Chinese striker Yang Changpeng. The 17-year-old 206 cm tall youngster will train with the club for a month. He will be joined at Reebok Stadium by midfielder Zhou Liao. This arrangement is part of Bolton's co-operation with Chinese top-flight club Wuhan.

"Yang is arguably the tallest professional footballer in the world at 6ft 9in and has represented China at under 20 level. He is a strong target man, who plays in a similar role to that of Liverpool and England international Peter Crouch", commented Bolton.

Whether this is anything more than a publicity stunt, remains to be seen.
